one thing

What is the one thing in your home that you wouldn't want to live without? This can be anything from a trinket to a bed even a nook. I guess what I am asking is what is the one thing that makes your home your home. The first thing that comes to mind when I say home. (aside from family, because sadly I will not be taking them with me)

A door with my own key, felt like home. I had been living in a huge older home with 25 other people and we shared one fridge. I had to write my name on everything. When I got my own place, I felt so free to not have to write my name on my food before I put in in the fridge.
I also had birds and plants and fresh cut flowers. Having something alive in the place besides me was nice.

I love fresh cut flowers and having a key that I must use will be new. No one around here locks the door. But in Roma it is a must. And they have some really cute doors.

Krista, when you say pillows do you mean on your bed or like throw pillows?
